Who Invented Chandigarh?

But the person who planned this beautiful city was a French Architect ‘Le Corbusier’. Construction began in the early 1950s and was completed in the late 1960s. Le Corbusier worked from 1951 till his death in 1965 for the construction of this city after that M.N. Sharma took over the charges.

Chandigarh city was inaugurated on 7th October 1953 by President Rajendra Prasad. It was then placed out of the administrative control of both Haryana and Punjab and under the direct charge of the Central Government as a Union Territory of India.
